AGM and Election Meeting

Kuching, Friday 19th February 2010

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, the LSAA hosted its first event for 2010 - The Inaugural AGM along with a casual BBQ and get-together at the Bampfylde Residences.

Based on our fire-making skills it was ascertained that none of us Lodgians would last very long if stranded in the wilderness. But in the end, the fire got going and the food was served (yes - we cheated and cooked most of it on a stove in the modern kitchen in a unit above).

With our famished members finally fed, we could then proceed to call the meeting to order. To summarize a few the main points of the AGM:

Since registration in January 2009 the Alumni now have a total of 140 registered members to date
The RM50 membership fee has now been waived, due to the fact that the LSAA has sufficient funding from the income generated by our annual EduFair held at the School
We now offer LSAA Membership cards to our registered members for a one time RM10 fee- entitling the bearer to discounts with our various Lodgian sponsors

Thus far the only Upcoming Event for 2010 is the EduFair set for June 25th 2010, and we are open to suggestions from our members for future events
We are currently looking for Speakers to address the current 4th & 5th Formers at Lodge to share their personal experiences in University/the Workforce to give the students a better understanding of various industries
We are also looking for more Sponsors to join our 'Lodgians for Lodgians' Network
